Springtime
What feelings does the word evoke in you? Soft daylight, baby blooms, lush countrysides and the sweet smell of lilac and hyacinth in the air. And while these lovely captures are the tactile essence of the season they can also be brought into our wardrobe with ease. Shades of ivory, pale blue, blush, sage and tan are each the cornerstone of a beautiful springtime palette. I love them worn in the classic way which means, shirt dresses, a crisp blouse, cable knit lightweight cardigans, smart trousers and the iconic double-breasted trench. These pieces are so time-honored that they alone can create the core of your spring closet.
From there, the small but powerful details elevate the outfit while lending it a personality that is uniquely your own. Timeless pearl earrings, a silk scarf, ballet flats and a beautifully made handbag will leave you looking so put together and feeling like your best self.
Simplifying my wardrobe over the past several years has been one of the most weight-lifting things I've done for myself. Pairing down, eliminating the trends and focusing upon the pieces that let my personal style take center stage has been so fulfilling. And, it has resulted in me being able to curate so many more looks I love, doing it with clarity and focus.
Pieces like these can be harder to find but learning just where to look for them is more than half the battle. I've left the links for spring styles I'm loving in the thumbnails below. Here's to you too finding what suits you. Happy spring, here's to us all enjoying some lovely new beginnings!
