August is one of my favorite months of the year.  Something about the ease of summer's most laidback days coupled up with buzz and knowing of autumn on the horizon. Naturally, so many of us are not ready to say farewell to summer just yet.  So whether you're planning a last minute holiday getaway or just looking forward to spending a bit of a staycation over the next few weeks, I think you will love what these pieces can do in relation to that. 

I want to begin with this dress.  Simple yet stunning would be one way to describe it and while this exact one is completely sold-out as we speak, I have found a couple of similar options that sort of mimic the look.  That being, a piece that effortlessly combines classic glamour with just a bit of summer playfulness.  I love it worn simply with some strappy sandals for a casual event or dress it up with a pair of heels for a more formal occasion in the evening.  Either way, you can't go wrong with this dress.

Bermuda shorts are still going to be a major player now and moving forward through to the end of summer.  Especially if you are living somewhere that's a bit warmer.  Otherwise, you can wear them with a light summer sweater or with a drappy top tucked in and a smart blazer on top.

One sleeve tops are perfect for late summer and this swimsuit doubles as one. I love it with these shorts as well as worn easily with a pair of high-waisted trousers or perhaps a breezy maxi skirt and some flats or sandals.

Color always plays a key part in each season which sounds quite funny coming from me as you likely know how much I favor neutrals.  But, there are shades that suited to every season with cream, khaki, black and brown.  They are all such beautiful choices that work so well together in all fabrics and across all seasons.  You can wear them now as well as later and, if you are at all like me, you'll rarely ever. tire of them.
