It's official! March is now here and we've turned the corner towards warmer days ahead. Even if it's just a little bit milder out, it is a sure sign that spring is waiting to wake up. To help welcome its arrival, you're likely in search of a few key pieces that will wake up your wardrobe as well. Trends can be tricky and a bit intimidating, to say the least. With these four, however, you can rest-assured that you will look fresh, feel confident and enjoy putting yourself together each morning.
STRIPES: This pattern is a proverbial springtime favorite and can be worked into your closet in an infinite number of ways. From the typical tops and tees to the standout piece of footwear {think smoking slipper} amid an otherwise solid top and bottom, stripes can liven up any look. Blazers, blouses, skirts and even handbags are all seeing stripes this season and looking great. Don't be afraid to branch out with this trend as you come to find the pieces that you like best.
FLORALS: Yes, I know what you're thinking, florals were made for wallpaper in a distant decade. I can't say that I didn't feel the same not so long ago. Now, I've begun to change my mind. With shades, patterns and designs that are eye-catchingly cute, this trend is quickly becoming one of my favorites! Some key points to keep in mind when wearing this look would be to aim to incorporate one flowered piece per outfit. Pretty floral denim skimmer pants work beautifully with a white jacket and a pastel peplum peeking out from underneath. Feminine and oh-so fresh.
THE BRIGHT BAG: Color is simply everywhere in the world of handbags and we girls couldn't be happier. From sweet sorbet shades to luscious pastel hues, these leather accessories are popping! Done in soft, supple finishes, they are the perfect companion to any of these looks seen here.
THE SILK BLOUSE: Now for la piece de resistance, the silk blouse. If there is one staple being seen simply everywhere this spring, it is the silk blouse. Color blocked, patterned, dotted or striped, the choices seem nearly endless and that is a lovely thing. One of my favorite ways to style this piece is to pair it with a sweet skirt or a bright-colored pair of skinnies, contrasting belt and an easy fitting shoe {aka the ballet flat} in a complementing color. Strap a great crossbody bag over your shoulder {in one of those irresistible colors we just mentioned} and you're out the door.
Just talking about these looks now has me ready to raid my closet and do some serious spring cleaning! I always find it refreshing and rewarding to do this because you almost certainly uncover a few cute little pieces you had forgotten all about. Why not grab them and work them into one of these new looks?
